Question and Answer

The following is a Question and Answer dialog on the book, "There Is Eternal Life For Animals."

Q:         Why did you write this book?

A:         What prompted me to research the subject was the passing of my 21 year old cat, Pete.  Once I had done my research, I felt that many people would benefit from this knowledge.   I thought that it would bring a great deal of hope for the future, and comfort to those who have lost a beloved animal companion.  I did not feel that all of the information was available -- at least not in any one place.

Q:         Is there a heaven for animals?  Is it the same heaven people go to?

A:        Yes, there is a heaven for animals.   Yes, it is the same place.  There are references to animals in heaven -- the same heaven that people go to.  Here are some of them:

Revelation, the last book of the Bible, is a book foretelling the future, which the Disciple John wrote with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.  In Revelation 19:17, for example, the Disciple, John, states that he saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the mist of heaven, come and gather together for the supper of the great God. This reveals to us that birds are mingling and are included in the activities with people, angels, and God.

In Psalm 104:12 it says that the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.  This tells us that their residence or dwelling place (habitation) is in heaven.

In Revelation, Chapter 6, it tells us that when Jesus comes back He will be riding a white horse.  I don't think that most people are confused as to the location where Jesus currently resides -- heaven, and the "white horse" is coming with Him from that location.

Q:         Have you always believed in animal afterlife?

A:         Well, actually I never thought about it much until we adopted our cat, Pete. That was about 17 years ago.  Then my great love for Pete brought my attention to the subject.  I did believe that animals went to heaven, but had not researched the subject until Pete passed  away in 2001.

Q:        What "proof" do you believe shows that there truly is an animal afterlife?  Is it based purely on Biblical interpretation or some sort of church doctrine, etc?

A:        The book, "There Is Eternal Life For Animals" presents the Bible scriptures that reveal this truth as faith-based evidence that there is eternal life for animals, and that they go to heaven.  To put it another way, there is as much "evidence" for the animals going to heaven as there is for us to go to heaven.   Heaven, Jesus Christ, and afterlife/eternal life are all in the Bible, and are all based on one's faith.

Q:        What Bible verse is the most obvious affirmation that animals go to heaven?

A:        The scripture that says that God preserves man and beast (beast meaning animals) found in Psalm 36:6.  The original Hebrew word translated as “thou preservest” is “yasha” meaning “to be liberated, be saved, be delivered, to save from moral troubles, to give victory to.”  Since this is obviously not happening in this life to either people or animals, as we are all subject to eventual death, this must refer to the resurrection when Jesus Christ returns.

Q:         Where is the book available?  Sold nationally? Internationally?

A:        The book is available through amazon.com and through Pete Publishing.  At this time it is not available in any bookstores.   It has been sold internationally, and the countries that I am aware of are Canada, South Africa, Australia, Belgium, Japan and the UK.   I have heard from people in both of those countries.

Q:        Are there any experts, such as theologians or scholars, on the subject?

A:         Yes.  The two experts that I have worked with are Dr. Jack Van Impe, World-Renowned Theologian, Jack Van Impe Ministries, Troy, Michigan.  The other is Dr. Peter Hammond, Founder and Director of Frontline Fellowship, Cape Town, South Africa.  (See the Resources section for more information about these ministries.)
